THE CHALLENGE
Ribonucleic acid (RNA) serves pivotal roles in genetic information transfer, protein synthesis, and gene expression regulation within cells. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the significance of Ribonucleic acid (RNA) technology was underscored more than ever before. This technology played a crucial role in understanding the virus, developing diagnostic tests, and designing vaccines. Recognising the significance of RNA technology in shaping the future of scientific research and manufacturing, the Department of Industry Science, and Resources (DISR) sought to understand further Australia’s own RNA capability.
THE OUTCOME
Evohealth developed a detailed and comprehensive snapshot of Australia’s RNA sector capability and capacity for DISR. The dashboard offers users the ability to interactively explore and search through the wealth of information collected, facilitating informed decision-making and collaboration within the RNA community. This dashboard, expected to be hosted on the DISR website, represents a significant step towards leveraging Australia’s RNA capability for future innovation and scientific excellence.
OUR APPROACH:
Evohealth collaborated with BBMT consulting to support DISR to understand Australia’s RNA capability by undertaking comprehensive research and data collection, including:
- Comprehensive Desktop Research: We conducted extensive desktop research to capture and map data on Australia’s RNA capabilities, identifying key players, resources, and potential areas for growth.
- Stakeholder Consultations: Engaging with key stakeholders across the RNA sector, we conducted extensive consultations to inform a stocktake of national RNA capabilities, gathering insights and perspectives from industry experts, researchers, and policymakers.
- Dashboard Development: Leveraging our expertise, we developed a visual and interactive dashboard using Power BI. This dashboard serves as a centralised platform to showcase the collected data, providing users with an intuitive and user-friendly interface for exploring Australia’s RNA capabilities.
